Das Buch mit 130 Seiten hat annähernd A4-Format und ist gedruckt auf 100 % Recyclingpapier mit Hardcover. 10 namhafte Experten kommen mit Kommentaren zu Wort. Das Vorwort stammt von Klaus Töpfer, dem ehemaligen Exekutivdirektor des Umweltprogramms der Vereinten Nationen UNEP.

Die Grauwassernutzung ist wie die Regenwassernutzung und die Verwendung von Brunnenwasser eine geeignete Technik, um den Trinkwasserverbrauch in Gebäuden und auf Grundstücken zu reduzieren. Dies ist ein Beitrag zum Umweltschutz und hilft, die Kosten für den Wasserverbrauch zu senken. Durch die Wiederverwendung von Grauwasser, im Sinne einer Mehrfachnutzung, wird weniger Abwasser produziert, woraus sich weitere ökologische und ökonomische Vorteile ergeben. Künftig wird auch die bereits erprobte Wärmerückgewinnung aus Grauwasser eine Rolle spielen. In Hotels und anderen Beherbergungs-Betrieben (Studentenwohnheime, Jugendherbergen, Gästehäuser und Pensionen, Campingplätze) ist die Nutzung aufbereiteten Grauwassers schon heute eine äußerst effiziente Maßnahme, um die Betriebskosten zu senken.

I am fascinated by water and energy, especially when construction techniques put them at the disposal of our surroundings and our architecture.

Water and energy are too precious to be used only once. In my contact with students and specialists, I promote the rules of technology for the runoff and evaporation of rainwater as well as for rainwater and greywater harvesting. It’s also all about the synergy effects of energy and architecture.

This, compounded with the way functions are divided among the various trades at the building site, can sometimes lead to misunderstandings.
